WHAT TO EXPECT IN A ROUTINE FOOT CARE TREATMENT APPOINTMENT ?

During your first visit from us, you will receive a full foot health assessment and a review of any previous foot care treatments. We are calm, gentle and knowledgeable.

We will check your feet, examining the skin and nails of each foot. We will check for signs of poor feet circulation and carry out a sensory and vascular check.

We will discuss any specific concerns or worries you would like us to address.
Following an assessment of both feet, if it is necessary we will begin treatment of hard skin or corns and trim your toenails. Should you require specific treatment, we can usually start this during your first appointment. If needed, we will arrange a follow-up appointment to continue treatment. Call us to discuss your initial appointment and treatment needs.

Before the end of the appointment we will provide you with a personal foot health care plan that is unique to you, along with helpful advice for keeping your feet in good condition.
We know some people can feel embarrassed by their foot problems. We treat all our patients with the utmost courtesy and respect. We will explain all our treatments in the most straightforward way possible before and during treatment and will answer your questions to keep you fully informed to help relieve any anxiety.

WE TREAT:

Verruca

Verrucae are common skin infections caused by a virus. They can be be painful and are prone to spreading to the rest of the foot and to others if left untreated.

Dry, Cracked Heels

Cracked heels (sometimes called ‘heel fissures’) are a common condition where cracks form in the skin around the edge of the heel. The condition is more serious if there is thick heel callus and the cracks are deep. Cracked heels can be painful and can lead to bleeding and infection.

Corns & Calluses

Corns are small areas of hard skin that can develop deep into the skin on the foot causing when walking and when pressure is applied on the foot.

Calluses are areas of thickened skin that can develop on the feet causing pain and can be unsightly.

Fungal Infections

Fungal nails infections are among the most common infections we see. The infected nail often becomes thickened, brittle/crumbly, distorted in shape and discoloured. The infected nails generally have an unpleasant appearance. It may lead to bad smelling feet including the socks and shoes.

Ingrowing Toenail

An ingrowing toe nail occurs where the nail grows into the skin on the side of the nail causing discomfort, pain, inflammation and in severe cases an infection.

Athlete’s Foot

Fungal infection on the skin of the feet (tinea pedis) is commonly known as athlete's foot. It can be present between the toes as well as on the soles of the feet. Common signs and symptoms may include a burning, itchy feeling, redness, flaking and peeling of the skin. Blistering may occur and also a bad foot odour. Fungal infections may spread to other parts of the foot and body as well as to others if left untreated. This fungi thrives in warm, damp environments
